The Grand Canyon (IN A HELICOPTER)

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Whilst exploring southern USA with Trek America, we were offered several optional activities – one of these being a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.

Out of all the excursions, this was by far the most pricey and before going I’d made sure to read up on previous Trekkers’ experiences to see if it was worthwhile.  I was kind of on the edge, mainly because of how much of my spending money it would eat up in one swoop.  I loved spending money, but was I ready to part with the best part of $300.

Obviously, because I’m now writing about it, I did end up parting with the dollar whilst visiting Grand Canyon National Park.  And that did mean a large portion or my budget had been eaten up.

And was it worth it?

In my opinion, yes.  Looking back on it now, it is defintely one of my greatest bucket list moments and something I will most likely never get the oppourtunity to do again.  It did take a huge – and I mean HUGE – portion out of my spending money, but I would definitely say it paid off.  Beforehand I had never been in helicopter, so for my first experience to be over one of the greatest natural wonders in the world .. I don’t think there’s anything quite like it.

Below is a short montage of my first time in a helicopter.  Feel free to share.
